Senior People, Not A Staffing Agency

Pollen Analytics is a boutique consultancy by design. We do not staff a bench of interchangeable developers and assign whoever is available — you work directly with senior technologists who have led this kind of work before, at scales ranging from early-stage startups to a trillion-dollar asset manager. If your problem is technically demanding, data-intensive, and requires someone who can communicate with both engineers and executives, that is exactly what we are built for.

Who We Are

Pollen is led by Tim Cull, who founded the firm in 2009 as a bootstrapped software consultancy, grew it to seven people without outside funding, and delivered every client project over five years on schedule and on budget. Between engagements at Pollen, Tim has spent thirty years in hands-on engineering leadership: leading the real-time big data group at Adobe Advertising Cloud (tens of billions of events per day), architecting geospatial and climate-hazard analytics at UrbanFootprint, and building trading and portfolio systems at BlackRock and Barclays Global Investors, at the time the world's largest asset manager. He has repeatedly taken on understaffed teams, unstable systems, and unclear strategy, and brought each to a stable, working state.

How We Work

Every engagement is project-based, with a defined scope and timeline, rather than an open-ended staffing arrangement. We will tell you upfront whether something is feasible, and we build hands-on rather than advise from the sidelines. To learn more or discuss whether we are a fit, please get in touch.
